Education and training are fundamental to the development of a safe and effective healthcare workforce. It is a key role of Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW) to work with stakeholders to develop education and training that not only meets current needs but will also underpin the development of any new roles and service delivery models.
This section of the website detailed the different types of accredited work-based learning that is available to healthcare staff. Accreditation of the education ensures that it is transferable, should an individual wish to move form one organisation to another.
To support NHS Wales organisations to deliver and assess standardised teaching, learning, education, and training of staff through centralised quality processes HEIW has developed a resource toolkit and Governance Framework.
