Wales Health Student Forum

Abstraction of a network of people

The Wales Health Student Forum (WHSF) is a multidisciplinary forum, comprising of pre-registration students from healthcare courses being delivered in Wales, with a passion for shaping the learning experiences for current and future students.

The WHSF is open to all healthcare students and empowers ‘students to support students’, because we believe at Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) that together, students can make a difference!

The forum offers an inclusive environment for students to:

  • have a voice
  • share knowledge and resources
  • discuss placement experiences
  • have leadership opportunities
  • challenge and highlight concerns and best practices
  • network with other healthcare professionals to promote inter-professional learning
  • discuss education issues relevant to healthcare students in Wales.

To secure a place on the forum, students must commit to attend two virtual meetings out of three a year. Failure to do so will result in their forum membership being cancelled.

At the meetings students will have to opportunity to network, discuss and engage with high profile figures in the NHS, universities and Welsh Government. Students will also have access to online resources, continued professional development (CPD) opportunities and audiences with inspirational speakers, careers network, service users and post graduate students within their own fields.

If you are, or you know, a healthcare student studying in Wales who is passionate about improving educational experiences for students then get them to join the WHSF today!
