Specialty Trainees in Orthodontics

Grade: ST1

Post type: Dental Specialty Trainee x 3 posts

Opening dates: Tuesday 11 January 2022 to Tuesday 8 February 2022

Applications are invited for three Specialty Training 3-year posts in Orthodontics based at:

  • University Dental Hospital Cardiff with Cardiff & Vale University Health Board (2 posts)
  • Wrexham Maelor Hospital with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Royal Liverpool University Dental Hospital with Health Education England North West (1 post)

These posts are suitable for trainees who wish to enter a training programme leading to the award of a Certificate of Completion in Specialty Training (CCST) in this specialty.

These posts have the approval of the Postgraduate Dental Dean for Wales.

Progress in the programme will be subject to satisfactory annual review. The normal duration of training will be as determined by the GDC’s curriculum for the specialty. Eligibility for the recommendation by the Postgraduate Dental Dean for Wales of the award of a CCST, by the GDC, will be subject to completion of the training requirements of the Deanery.

This post is suitable for trainees who wish to enter a training programme leading to the award of a Certificate of Completion in Specialty Training (CCST) in this specialty.

Orthodontics Post CCST Specialty Training Programme Wales 2022

 

Specialty / Programme: Dental - Orthodontics

Grade: ST4

Post type: Dental Specialty Trainee (Post CCST) x 2 posts

Opening dates: Tuesday 7 June 2022 to Monday 4 July 2022

 

Applications are invited for two Post CCST appointments in Orthodontics based at:

  • University Dental Hospital with Cardiff & Vale University Health Board and Royal Gwent Hospital in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (1 post)
  • Morriston Hospital with Swansea Bay University Health Board (1 post)

These posts are suitable for trainees who will have gained a CCST or are within three months of obtaining their certificate and can proceed directly onto a fixed term appointment for two years. 

Progress in the programme will be subject to satisfactory annual review.  The normal duration of training will be as determined by the GDC’s curriculum for the specialty. 

Successful completion of the training programme will culminate in satisfactory completion of the ISFE examination.
