National Day of Reflection

Today, we come together as a nation to reflect and remember those who have sadly lost their lives to the pandemic and support those who are grieving the death of a loved one - our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you.

As an organisation, we will be observing a minute's silence at 12 noon on Wednesday 23 March.

HEIW's Chair, Dr Chris Jones said "Today, a day for national reflection is the opportunity for us all to quietly pause and reflect – remembering what we have been through over the last two years. Remembering those who sadly passed away from the pandemic together with their loved ones and friends. We also remember colleagues who have worked tirelessly to support and treat those who became ill.

"Our individual sacrifices and effort together with the advances in science have brought us to the point where we can look towards a new normality. Given all that is going on in the world at present, today is an opportunity to recognise the value of supporting one another."
