Additional mental health training courses for community pharmacy workforce

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is offering new dates for the First Aid for Mental Health training course. This training is suitable for all community pharmacy workers. And the deadline for claiming payment for this training is 31 March 2024.

Attendees will gain insight and develop new skills to:

  • help recognise mental health conditions
  • help recognise and manage stress
  • understand the impact of substance abuse
  • start a supportive conversation
  • signpost people to appropriate professional help


Attendees will learn:

  • about the first aid action plan for mental health
  • how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace


The courses are available online or face-to-face in a range of locations across Wales.

“I attended the course, I found it extremely helpful and informative, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. It was interactive throughout which made it more interesting. I found the signposting session very informative and could imagine this being a useful part of a toolkit you would need working in community pharmacy.”
