As the Welsh Clinical Leadership Fellowship (WCLF) programme celebrates its 10th anniversary, we have some great news to report.
Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is very proud of its Welsh Clinical Leadership Fellowship. It has proved incredibly popular, and the programme is going from strength to strength.
Very recently, the entire 22/23 cohort have been celebrating the successful completion of their Post Grad Certificates.
Moreover, one fellow achieved a remarkable 100% mark for their module on Compassionate Leadership in Practice. It was the first time the lecturer has awarded a 100% mark in her 20 years as a senior lecturer.
Now, the 2023 cohort are 16 fellows strong, and are about to start their own exciting journeys through the programme.
This programme began with just a handful of doctors, but in a short space of time, it has become the most multi-professional fellowship in the UK. This new cohort even includes places for two nurses!
Having such a highly skilled workforce is excellent news for Welsh health boards, and ultimately, of course, patients as well.
The programme director Dr Ian Collings said: “The fellowship has continued to demonstrate a commitment to developing the NHS leaders of the future by delivering a truly inter-professional learning experience and opportunities, through quality improvement projects, to put their learning into action. I am excited to see the success of the 11th cohort of leadership fellows”.
