The approach to workforce planning in primary care was developed in partnership with two GP clusters and Skills for Health. This simplified methodology can be used by practices and clusters to create their workforce plans. This is based on the six steps methodology, but breaks the process down into a set of four questions:

The Workforce Planning Capability Self Assessment is a benchmarking tool that supports individuals/teams to gauge capabilities and identify what can be done to develop skills.
