At HEIW, we lead the Allied Health Professions (AHP) programme in Wales.
The programme has been set up to implement the 10-year vision described in the Allied Health Professions Framework: Looking Forward Together (2019). That vision is:
Purpose
The programme is supported by:
- the ‘whole systems’ approach based within A Healthier Wales (2018)
- the person-centred symptom-based approach in the National Clinical Framework (2021)
- and the seven themes of the Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care (2020).
The purpose of the programme is to:
- raise awareness about the vital contribution AHPs make to health and social care in Wales
- highlight our diverse and rewarding career opportunities
- empower us to lead the future of person-centred, multi-professional practice.
