Prosthetists

What is a prosthetist?

A prosthetist is an autonomous, registered healthcare practitioner specialising in designing, fabricating, and fitting prosthetic limbs for individuals with partial or complete limb loss due to injury, amputation, or congenital conditions.

Prosthetists utilise gait analysis and advanced engineering techniques to create prostheses that replicate a missing limb's structural and functional characteristics. This allows patients to regain mobility and manage activities of daily living, restoring functionality lost due to limb absence. Additionally, prostheses can positively affect body image, mental health, and self-esteem.
