Postgraduate placements

To address the backlog of optometrists waiting for postgraduate clinical placements Advanced Training Practices (ATP's) have been established.

They aim to increase the capacity of, and access to quality postgraduate clinical placements.

These placements will foster professional development through training opportunities in supportive community optometry practices across Wales. They will provide comprehensive, hands-on clinical experience and professional guidance.  

ATPs mark an exciting new chapter in the professional development of optometrists across Wales.

Our initial focus has been to increase accessibility of IP placements across Wales.

As we look to the future, we aim to explore opportunities to offer other postgraduate and multiprofessional training opportunities.
