Here are some of the ways we have recently been supporting NHS Wales:
- At HEIW, we’re building a future-ready, compassionate nursing and perinatal workforce across NHS Wales. Through our “High Performing Compassionate Team” workshop, we’re equipping teams with the tools to lead with empathy, communicate with purpose and support one another while improving patient care and staff wellbeing. - We’re developing the first NHS Wales Education Strategy and we need your input. HEIW is calling on learners, educators, NHS staff and everyone involved in healthcare to share their ideas and experiences through our Call for Evidence, open until 4 November 2025. Your insight could help shape the education system that supports NHS Wales for decades to come. - Welcome to all resident doctors and dentists starting induction this month. Raising concerns isn’t always easy but we want you to know that support is available. Creating a culture of openness and trust is essential in healthcare and including these new materials as part of the induction process is vital to ensuring that residents know how to speak up safely. - We supported the launch of a new course designed to help you learn simple Welsh words and greetings. Perfect for those who are new to the language and curious to learn more! It was a pleasure to host this week at the NHS Wales / More than Just Words tent at the Eisteddfod, we had some great conversations about the importance of using Cymraeg in care settings. This course supports the Welsh Government’s More than Just Words strategy, which aims for all health and social care staff to reach courtesy level Welsh by 2027. - We are thrilled to join the Royal College of Midwives in welcoming the official launch of RCM Cymru, marking a new era in Welsh maternity and neonatal care. At the Eisteddfod in Wrexham our Head of More than Just Words Strategy, Dr Nia Cole Jones supported their panel on the importance of promotion and use of the Welsh language.
