Ensuring the workforce have the skills and capacity to deliver care

Postgraduate Training

We have provided over 530 places in Solution Focused Brief Therapy interventions from levels 1 - 3 with 93% of trainees reporting that they were able to bring these skills into their work and support more people as a result.

We have also invested over £1.4m since 23/24 in postgraduate level training in psychological interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) with over 800 staff having been upskilled to provide these interventions. A proportion of this funding has also been invested in training for social workers. We are working towards a centrally commissioned model for funding postgraduate training which will simplify the allocation process and deliver increased value for money, potentially enabling the upskilling of more staff each year.
