Director of Educational Improvement (Medical Deanery), Health Education Improvement Wales 

Gethin is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine in Wales. He is the Director of Educational Improvement for Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW) and lead for the HEIW Quality Improvement Skills Training (QIST) Programme.  Gethin has held a number of national leadership roles in the arenas of education, training and QI.  

He was the Lead Faculty for the Improvement Cymru National Advanced QI Programme: QI Advisor Cymru (QIAC), previously known as ScIL Wales, delivered in partnership with NHS Education for Scotland (NES).  Since 2017, he has served as a judge for the NHS Wales Awards. Gethin is the Immediate Past-Chair of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) Anaesthetic Curriculum Development Group (ACDAG).  Prior to this he was Chair and Deputy-Chair of the Curriculum Development Group between 2021-2024.  

Gethin is also the Lead for the RCoA Quality Network in Wales and a member of the RCoA QI Working Group.
