Sponsored courses are available for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians.

The sponsorships support the optometry workforce in delivering enhanced eye care services across Wales. This helps keep patients out of secondary care, allowing them to receive treatment closer to home in their local optometry practices.

How to Apply

Sign up to our mailing list by selecting 'Optometry' from the 'project interests' list.

Most courses have start dates in September or March and we generally send out expressions of interest 3 months before this (May and December).

Who is eligible

We sponsor Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (including Contact Lens Opticians).

You must be working in Wales and have a letter of support from your employer so we know you will be providing relevant services in Wales on completion of the course.

Sponsorship for other health care professionals

We also offer sponsorship for nurses, orthoptists and other eye care professions.
