Spotlight on Innovation: Advancing Healthcare Awards Cymru celebrate Wales' healthcare heroes

The countdown is on! The Advancing Healthcare Awards Cymru are back, shining a light on the brilliant healthcare science professionals, allied health professionals (AHPs), and their partners working across Wales.

This year’s awards – one sponsored by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) for developing the AHP and healthcare science professions workforce, celebrate the groundbreaking, evidence-based work transforming prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. From sustainability to innovation, the projects shortlisted prove just how vital AHPs and healthcare scientists are in shaping the future of healthcare.

Special congratulations go to those shortlisted for the HEIW Award for Developing the AHP and Healthcare Science Professions Workforce – a category that recognises the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Dr Sarah Bant, Associate Director of Workforce Transformation (Healthcare Science) said, “These awards are a powerful reminder of the innovation and dedication that drive healthcare in Wales. Every finalist represents the spirit of collaboration, excellence, and lifelong learning that underpins our professions. At HEIW, we’re proud to support initiatives that help develop and celebrate the AHP and healthcare science workforce shaping our nation’s future.”

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on Friday 14 November at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel.

The awards don’t just celebrate achievements – they amplify the profession’s voice, showcase impact, and spread examples of best practice that can be adopted across Wales.
