Preparations are underway for our inaugural AHP annual conference

Published: 7 August 2024

The last few months have proven to be busy for the AHP team at Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). Preparations are underway for the AHP annual conference, “Moving Forward Together: AHP Innovation to Inspire Future Solutions” on the 5th of November which will be held in the Glamorgan Cricket Grounds, Sophia Gardens. The event is aimed at our established AHP colleagues as well as students and everyone in-between.

We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker will be broadcaster Tom Cheesewright, on the topic of Futurism, the future of the health services and the role of AI in our healthcare services. This is an opportunity not to be missed.

Along with preparations for our own annual AHP conference, we were also proud to be part of ABUHB Allied Health Professionals & Healthcare Scientists Conference 2024, where we debuted our new, inclusive visual identifier whilst also hosting a successful (if not, very competitive!) weightlifting competition at our stand.

Thank you all who took the time to stop by to talk to us.

Our new, inclusive visual identifier has been developed in response to feedback from all 13 of our Welsh Allied Health Professions.

We are also proud to announce that along with his work on the ESR data cleanse, our very own Mark Brand and his Green Guide toolkit was shortlisted as finalist for the NHS Sustainability Awards.

Our AHP team has also expanded with Opeyemi (Ope) Akinjogunla joining us as Project Support Officer from Public Health Wales. Welcome to HEIW Ope.
