Supporting families: Parent-infant relationships and mental health training

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is pleased to offer the The parent-infant relationship and infant mental health e-learning course. Available on Y Ty Dysgu, the course is suitable for all health professionals across Wales.

HEIW is committed to delivering quality education and training so it’s crucial healthcare professionals receive the latest, up to date information to deliver high quality care.

The course covers a variety of topics from early brain development to challenges to caregiving. It supports improved patient experience through enhanced peri-operative care, better-trained staff and leadership for safe care delivery, and optimised workforce models that boost productivity.

The training has been developed in partnership with Welsh Government and specialist practitioners and is aimed at people who are working with parents, infants and families. This includes:

• Health visitors
• Mental health practitioners
• Child protection social workers
• Early years practitioners
• Police officers
• Allied health professionals
• Nurses and midwives
