Health Education and Improvement Wales is proud to announce the relaunch of the revised NEST/NYTH Children’s Rights Training on Y Ty Dysgu, the national e-learning platform for NHS Wales.
The training course supports the implementation of Welsh Government’s NYTH/NEST Framework. The framework is a planning and reflection tool for those working with, and on behalf, of babies, children and young people. It aims to ensure a whole system approach for developing mental health, wellbeing and support services.
As part of HEIW’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and training and supporting workforce transformation, the NEST/NYTH Children’s Rights training course has been developed to ultimately help improve mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people across Wales.
The course is suitable for all healthcare professionals who work with babies, children or young people in social care, health or the voluntary sector. And it aims to provide learners with:
an understanding of what the NYTH/NEST Framework is
an understanding of what children’s rights are
increased knowledge of how to implement the NYTH/NEST Framework
increased knowledge of how to implement a children’s rights based approach
HEIW is thrilled with this relaunch and strives to offer the most up-to-date learning experience for healthcare professionals across Wales.
So far, over 500 professionals have already enrolled, and the feedback has been positive:
“I really enjoyed the training.”
“Very interesting examples of how NEST had been used to support co-production and service development.”
“I found the voices of the young people being part of the training helpful, and all the information of the work being done by them and with them.”
