The Strategic Workforce Plan for Primary Care (SWPPC) team is proud to announce the launch of a new dedicated webpage and quarterly newsletter, designed to keep everyone with an interest in primary and community care informed.
What’s new?
The newly launched web page acts as a central hub for SWPPC information. All the information on the plan is held and amended as actions progress, to keep you up to date with the work that is currently underway and enabling stakeholders to see how the plan is evolving.
The first edition of the newsletter is now available via the web page, with a sign–up process to allow quick and easy access to future newsletters. Packed with information on the plan, updates on actions and ways in which you can get involved, this newsletter will be a great way to keep everyone informed, engaged and involved in shaping the future of primary care. All issues will be stored on the new webpage so a newsletter will never be missed.
Purpose and Value
The SWPPC is a key initiative under HEIW’s IMTP Strategic Priority 2: Workforce Transformation to Support Preventative and Place-based Healthcare. It aligns closely with Welsh Government priorities, including prevention, mental health, reducing health inequalities, improving progress together, and accelerating integrated care.
The work carried out for the launch of the webpage and newsletter was driven by the need for transparent, accessible communication about the SWPPC’s progress. By making information readily available, the team ensures that everyone including frontline staff, trainees, health boards, and other interested parties can stay informed, contribute ideas, and participate in shaping the future of primary care in Wales.
The newsletter is not only packed with updates on the plan, it also includes training opportunities, and calls for involvement. It’s designed to foster engagement and collaboration, making it easier for stakeholders to see how their input is really making a difference.
