At Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) our role is to plan, train and grow a skilled, compassionate and sustainable healthcare workforce for Wales.
Here's a look at what's been happening across our teams over the last couple of weeks:
- HEIW’s national e-Learning platform, Y Ty Dysgu, has reached over 32,000 users. Since launching in December 2022, Y Ty Dysgu has become a cornerstone for professional development across Wales’ health and social care workforce. Find out more here.
- We've extended the deadline for input on our development of a new Education Strategy to help shape a skilled and sustainable NHS workforce. Have your say.
- If you’re a student training in healthcare and you’ve experienced something that’s not quite right, we urge you to speak up. To help guide you, we have developed a raising concerns toolkit.
- We have launched a brand-new webpage and quarterly newsletter for the Strategic Workforce Plan for Primary Care (SWPPC). This will be a easy-access hub for progress updates, training opportunities, and ways to get involved in this programme of work. Find out more here.
- We are delighted to announce a partnership between us and Xplore! A Science Discovery Centre in Wrexham, bringing healthcare science to life for the next generation. Read more about this new partnership here.
- Collaborating for better vision care - we are bringing together eye care professionals across Cwm Taf Morgannwg for a Low Vision Multi-Disciplinary Peer Review event. Find out more.
- The DEMEC25 (Developing Excellence in Medical Education Conference) programme is now live. We are proud to be at the heart of education and training for a globally sustainable healthcare workforce. More here.
- This year’s All-Wales Dental Team Conference, hosted by our Dental Deanery, brought together dental professionals from across Wales. Read about the event here.
