As the national strategic workforce organisation for NHS Wales, we work with partners to develop a skilled and sustainable workforce that improves care and population health to ensure that opportunities to work in the health and care system are available to all.

We have been supporting NHS staff by:

➡️ Developing a new Motivational Interviewing (MI) e-learning module to support all health and care professionals in delivering truly patient-centred care across clinical and non-clinical roles, in every setting.

➡️ Launching a future focused Nursing Career Framework creating clear pathways from Healthcare Support Worker to Consultant Nurse and empowering every nursing team member to grow and achieve their career goals.

➡️ Opening applications for our new NHS Leadership Programme for NHS colleagues from a Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic background. This programme helps build confidence, overcome challenges and gain skills. Apply by 11 August 2025.

➡️ In our drive to provide excellent education and training, we are proud to deliver the RCN Wales Healthcare Connect Programme in partnership with colleges, health boards and universities across Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in healthcare roles before formal studies.
