Expert Leadership Series 2026 - Driving Inclusion Across NHS Wales

Published 2 December 2025

NHS Wales continues to build on its commitment to placing inclusion at the centre of leadership.

From January to March 2026, Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) will host a Virtual Expert Leadership Series, designed to equip leaders with the knowledge and tools to create fair, inclusive workplaces.

This initiative supports national priorities, including the Anti-racist Wales Action Plan and the Strategic Equality and Human Rights Plan, ensuring that leadership across NHS Wales reflects the values of equity, diversity, and compassion.

What to expect:

  • Three dynamic sessions led by expert speakers
  • Practical strategies for inclusive leadership
  • Opportunities to engage and share experiences

Why it matters:

Inclusive leadership is not just a principle - it’s a requirement for delivering high-quality care and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. NHS Wales is committed to tackling inequality andfostering cultures that value every individual.

Alongside the Inclusive Leadership Pathway, the Expert Leadership Series also includes a dedicated set of Sessions for Executive and Non-Executive Board Members. These sessions will focus on priority leadership topics.

Both pathways sit under the shared umbrella of the Expert Leadership Series, reflecting HEIW’s commitment to supporting leaders to deliver compassionate, inclusive and future - focused services for the people of Wales.
