Lewis Lounge
|
Lucy Smothers, Pippa Cotterill, Margaret Manton, Elizabeth Doe
The early years of a child’s life is a critical period which impact on both short- and long-term health outcomes with less positive experiences early in life relating closely to unhealthy behaviours, poor physical and mental health, poverty, unemployment and homelessness. As AHPs we can play a significant role in the marmot principle ‘Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life’. Research tells us that investment in the early years has the most potential for action and is cost effective. Join us in sharing good practice and innovative ways in how AHPs can support investment into the future of our next generation. Join them to also find out about empowering AHPs through Research Partnerships

Michelle Price, Christian Newman How can we systematically use data to drive improvement in our services? In this breakout session, participants will be challenged to think about the importance of demonstrating the impact and value of what they do at an individual, team, service, organisational, regional and national level. We will look at the common approach that is being recommended and explore how that could work for those in the session. Participants will have an opportunity to inform what is included in the common approach and learn what is being done to make the capture, collating and reporting of data more systematic and less of a burden both on AHPs and the people they work with. |

Ian Mathieson This session will consider the process of leadership development, illustrating how the interplay of professional, personal experiences and opportunities can facilitate development as a leader, offering reflections on how these can be recognised and exploited. The audience will be challenged to consider their own leadership narrative, and its origins, and to reflect on the opportunities they have for leadership influence and development. |
H - Workforce wellbeing: Schwartz round |
Lewis Lounge |
Dr Adrian Neal, Dr Benna Waites, Peter Carr, Robert Stubbs, Paul Stott Schwartz Rounds are designed to allow health care staff to listen to, engage in and experience a facilitated conversation about aspects of their work they may normally not have the opportunity or permission to. Schwartz rounds focus on the essential but unspoken elements of our work as professional carers, helping us acknowledge, share, and process the emotional and social demands that may seem invisible but which we know are highly relevant. Importantly Schwartz Rounds are an evidence-based resource to help sustain ourselves and our social groups in highly pressured healthcare environments. |
