Revalidation support unit

MARS Medical, MARS GP and the MARS Help & Support websites are currently offline following the global cyber security issue identified on 22 October. We appreciate the continued inconvenience this is causing and apologise for the disruption. As previously advised, there is no evidence that HEIW systems or data have been compromised.

We currently expect MARS to become available again during the week commencing 23 November 2026. This remains subject to completion of the technical work required to restore the systems safely and securely.

We recognise that the outage may raise questions about individual appraisal and revalidation arrangements. Please refer to the FAQs for further information and guidance.

The Revalidation Support Unit (RSU) aims to support and improve professional standards through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), appraisal and revalidation.

We work closely with stakeholders including Welsh Government, the General Medical Council (GMC), the British Medical Association (BMA), and designated bodies in Wales to deliver high quality, professionally led systems and resources.

Working together as a team is important to us and underpins everything that we do. Our team ethos includes making the best use of our knowledge and expertise, having a positive and proactive outlook and to share good practice while supporting each other.
