2026 Training Programme
HEIW/The Endoscopy Academy of Wales is pleased to announce new training dates in support of trainee endoscopists, endoscopy nurses and managers, as well as admin and clerical staff in Wales. In 2026, these courses are to be provided primarily at Keir Hardie Academic Centre (Merthyr Tydfil), with high quality seminar rooms and dedicated clinical laboratory space. We are very pleased to announce the inclusion of ERCP training opportunities for both nurses and endoscopists, as outlined below.
The Endoscopy Academy is also very excited to announce the reopening of the North Wales Regional Endoscopy Training Centre in December 2025. Please contact HEIW.Endoscopy@wales.nhs.uk for more information about courses being delivered out of Wrexham Maelor in 2026.
In 2026, we will also begin expanding endoscopy related e-learning and online resources for the endoscopy workforce through Y Ty Dysgu, HEIW’s e-learning and events management system. Please check back for updates or reach out to us with any questions.

In 2024 we provided for the first time a training course aimed at endoscopy administrative and clerical workers which was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback. We are committed to continuing to develop this training pathway and are working to arrange dates in 2026. Please contact us if you are interested in attending.
