Getting Started

This Handbook will have been sent to you after you have accepted a Foundation Therapist into your practice.

Prior to commencing in the practice, you should have:

Discussed and agreed your hours of work with your Foundation Therapist
Agreed a start day in practice, in line with the “week commencing date” provided by the Administrative Officer, Dental Deanery, Medical Directorate

Satisfied yourself that you can:

You and your Foundation Therapist will have informed the Administrative Officer, Dental Deanery, Medical Directorate of your appointment.

By the end of the first week in practice you should have:

Been issued with access to the Therapist’s Professional Development e-Portfolio
Completed the Educational Supervisor and personal details pages
Had an initial discussion with your Foundation Therapist and completed the starting clinical experience checklist and produced an action plan
Received a copy of the study day Timetable
