Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an essential requirement for all dental professionals registered with the General Dental Council (GDC). CPD helps you maintain and develop your knowledge, skills, and professional standards throughout your career.
Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) provides a wide range of CPD opportunities for dental professionals through its learning management system, Y Ty Dysgu. CPD is available in a variety of formats to suit different learning needs and preferences, including:
- Face-to-face events
- Live online learning events
- E-learning courses
Once a CPD activity has been completed, participants are asked to complete an evaluation. Following submission of the evaluation, a certificate is issued showing the number of CPD hours gained. It is important to keep these certificates as part of your professional records, as they provide evidence of your engagement with CPD and may be required for GDC CPD compliance.
