Quality Improvement Skills Training (QIST)

Develop your Quality Improvement skills

The Quality Improvement Skills Training (QIST) programme helps healthcare professionals build the knowledge and practical skills they need to improve health services and learning environments.

You can access a range of online learning, virtual and face to face Quality Improvement (QI) training and resources. Where training supports specific curriculum requirements, the content is mapped to the relevant profession or specialty.

Delivered in partnership with NHS Wales Quality, Safety and Improvement, QIST provides training for resident doctors, pharmacists and dentists, alongside some HEIW specific programmes.

Some courses and workshops are designed to meet defined curriculum requirements. This means places may be restricted to learners from the relevant professions or specialties.

If you’d like to attend one of these workshops:

We’re now using the Y Ty Dysgu platform for all of our courses, so we recommend that you register at your earliest convenience. A step-by-step guide on how to do this can be found here.

When you have registered, including provision of the necessary profession and job role information, you will be able to find our courses by searching for “QIST”.

If you have any general queries about our programme you can contact the QIST Team.

We also provide training for Trainers and Educational Supervisors so they can support their trainees in their QI journey - find out more here.
