Oncology
HEIW provides training in both Clinical Oncology (Radiotherapy) and Medical Oncology.
There are 14 (whole-time equivalent) clinical oncology trainee posts in south Wales, divided between two training centres; Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff and Singleton Oncology Centre in Swansea.
Medical oncologists are responsible for overseeing the treatment of patients with cancer. This involves discussing therapeutic options, supervising systemic treatments and supporting patients through their care.
