Following graduation Judith has had an extensive career, predominately working in the NHS. Prior to her retirement in 2015, Judith worked for almost 40 years in NHS England and in Wales with more than 20 years’ experience working at Board level, primarily in the field of Human Resources and Organisational Development. She has had experience of leading organisational change, developing workforce and organisational development strategies and establishing and leading effective Human Resources teams. During this time, Judith also spent two years on secondment in Welsh Government.

Judith served on the Hywel Dda University Health Board from April 2016, initially as an Independent Member and then as Vice Chair from Feb 2017. During this time, she was interim Chair for two periods, most recently from Oct 2023 and her term of office ended at end of May 2024.

Judith chaired two Committees during this time, the Mental Health Legislation Committee and the Health and Safety Committee as well as chairing the Board in the absence of the Chair and when acting as interim Chair. She has also been a member of several other Committees; People and OD, Quality and Safety, Audit, Risk and Assurance, Finance and Strategic Planning. Judith has also been the Chair of the West Wales Regional Partnership Board which brings together Local Authority and third sector partners.

Outside of her job roles, Judith has raised funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust and was the Manager of local rugby teams at Newport High School Old Boys rugby club in S.E Wales for many years. She enjoys watching sport and walking.
