Standardisation Events
HEIW standardisation events provide valuable opportunities throughout the year for assessors, trainees, and Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs) to come together, both face-to-face and virtually, to ensure consistency and quality across practice. These sessions and workshops cover a wide range of relevant and practical topics, including RAG and risk ratings, reviewing learners’ work, and delivering effective, constructive feedback. They also address important areas such as conflict of interest, the application of command verbs, and the implementation of reasonable adjustments to support diverse learner needs. Increasingly, workshops also explore the role of AI in assessment practices, alongside offering valuable networking opportunities that foster collaboration and shared understanding across an all-Wales community.
The dates for 2026 are:
The WBL team have created networks on Teams for assessors, trainees, and IQAs to come together, share knowledge, and ask questions. We use these networks to advertise any available training opportunities and updates.
