Healthcare science network

The healthcare science network is a group of experienced professionals representing each area of healthcare science.

What does the network do?

The network's purpose is to drive the direction of the healthcare science programme.

It does this through:

  • Representation: Each professional area within healthcare science has a representative in the network. These individuals ensure their profession’s perspectives are heard in national developments and share updates back with their colleagues across Wales.
  • Collaboration: The network facilitates cooperation across professional groups, supporting innovation, workforce development, and strategic progress in healthcare science.
  • Influence: Recognised in the looking forward framework, the network drives key developments and represents Wales’ healthcare science interests nationally.

Connecting with your representative

As a member of a healthcare science profession, you can connect with your profession's representative to share your views or better understand what is happening in your profession. To do this, please contact our Healthcare Science Team and we will link you with the right person.

Shadowing meetings

The network also offers shadowing opportunities for healthcare science professionals who want to gain experience in strategic meetings and national-level developments. This is ideal for:

  • Individuals developing into senior roles.
  • Newly appointed senior professionals looking to build experience in strategic work.
  • Postgraduate or doctoral trainees who need insight into national collaboration.

Shadowing is offered to support career development and succession planning within healthcare science. If you are interested, get in touch with us, and we will help you explore this opportunity.
