Health Education and Improvement Wales has created a Primary Care Workforce Intelligence System (PCWIS) Reporting Guide for Optometry to support contractors across Wales.
The Guide is available on Y Ty Dysgu, the national e-learning platform for NHS Wales and provides detailed instructions on how to complete PCWIS, including:
- how to add new staff
- how to record locum hours
- what to do when staff leave
The Guide also includes handy screenshots and links to useful instruction videos hosted on Learning@wales. It is worth noting that these videos are for all primary care contractors, optometry practices are only expected to include registrants on PCWIS.
The goal of the PCWIS is to support the ambition of A Healthier Wales and the Primary Care Model for Wales by capturing and reporting data which will inform sustainable workforce arrangements.
