Explore a career in blood sciences!

Blood science specialists test blood samples to find out what’s happening inside the body. They help diagnose illnesses like diabetes, anaemia, and infections, and monitor how well treatments are working. They work with patients of all ages and support nearly every medical specialty. Their results help doctors make decisions and keep patients healthy.

Biomedical Scientist: This is the main job title for scientists who test blood and other samples to help find out what’s wrong and how to treat it. They must be registered with the HCPC to show they’re trained and safe to work.
