Psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWP) work with adults with common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression using a range of evidence-based psychological interventions and skills. They do this by providing person and relation ship centred assessment and using low intensity methods, to help individuals self-manage their recovery.
Treatment interventions are mainly informed by cognitive behavioural practices which focus on areas where the individuals would like to change how they feel, think or behave helping improve how they feel and their quality of life. Interventions are provided on a one-to-one basis or in groups. PWPs may also manage referrals and signpost to other professionals and agencies.
