At HEIW, we recognise the impact of climate change on population health and the significant carbon footprint of healthcare. We’re committed to playing our part in tackling climate change and supporting a sustainable future for health and care in Wales.
Our Climate Smart Education and Training Action Plan outlines how we are embedding sustainability into education, training, and workforce development. It ensures that all learners and trainees within HEIW’s remit have access to sustainable healthcare education, while raising awareness of its importance for future generations. By supporting sustainable practice and working in partnership across the system, the plan contributes to building a more sustainable NHS Wales for the benefit of patients and population health. Find out more about our approach, actions, and progress on our Climate Action webpage.
HEIW is contributing to work across NHS Wales to educate the workforce on the importance of sustainable healthcare. Please take a minute to answer three short questions on climate-smart education. This isn’t mandatory, but we’d be grateful for your input.
