'Meet the Fellows': Introducing the Welsh Clinical Leadership Training Fellows of 2020 – 2021

In the eighth year of the Welsh Clinical Leadership Training Fellowship (WCLTF) programme run by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW), eight new fellows are developing their clinical leadership skills by taking on innovative healthcare projects.

The fellowship is a one-year opportunity for doctors, dentists, pharmacists and, for the first time in the UK, this year, optometrists.

This unique opportunity provides fellows with training and hands-on experience in clinical leadership and management, ideally placing graduates to lead improvements in the delivery of healthcare in the future modern NHS.

This year’s cohort will be working with senior colleagues at healthcare organisations across Wales including HEIW, NHS Wales Informatics Service, Welsh Government, Cardiff & Vale UHB and Public Health Wales.

Their projects will focus on improving important healthcare issues including trainee wellbeing, recruitment & retention, digital innovations, workforce strategies, sustainable healthcare and more.

To ‘meet’ each of the fellows, keep an eye out on HEIW's website and social media, where will be posting their bios on a weekly basis. You can also follow our #MeettheFellows campaign on Twitter and Facebook.

For further information, or if you’re interested in contacting a fellow, please email heiw@wales.nhs.uk or follow the fellows on Twitter @WelshFellows

Applications for the 2020 – 2021 WCLTF will open between October 2020 and November 2020 and can be submitted via Oriel.
